Job summary

Edgecombe County – North Carolina, United States is hiring a full-time Social Studies teacher for middle or high school. Compensation follows the NC Teaching Salary Schedule with supplements for year-round assignment; salary range $42,000–$69,888 plus 7% or 6% supplemental pay depending on assignment.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. A valid NC teaching license (A or M) or eligibility via the alternative licensing pathway is required, along with a four-year degree.

Qualifications

• The candidate must possess a valid North Carolina teacher license, "A" or "M", with teaching certification in Social Studies (middle school) or Social Studies (high school) or be eligible for an NC Teacher License through an alternative licensing pathway offered by NCDPI.
• The candidate must also have a four year college degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution.

This position is a year-round school and receives corresponding compensation. Salary is based on the NC Teaching Salary Schedule plus the assigned supplement (%).

Edgecombe Salary Range: $42,000 - $69,888

Plus, corresponding pay for year-round assignment and 7% supplemental pay.

Lenoir Salary Range: $42,000 - $69,888

Plus, corresponding pay for year-round assignment and 6% supplemental pay.

Management Preferences

Experience providing effective instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse needs.

Experience in creating a safe environment for students utilizing behavioral management techniques.

Experience in creating lessons that coincide with Common Core State Standards and NC Essential Skills in order to improve student achievement.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7AM -4:30 PM

Minimum Education and Experience
