York County Libraries seeks a part-time Math Specialist to work with K-8 students in York City School District. The role involves small-group and one-on-one math instruction, keeping detailed student records, and supporting emotional well-being as part of academic growth.
Responsibilities include collecting progress data, assisting with assessments, and participating in professional development on best math practices.
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour Hours: 29.5 hours per week Supervisor: Director of Educational Services Location: York City School District Classification: Part-Time/Contingent/non-exempt Schedule: Monday through Friday except for parent-teacher conference days and 6 designated early dismissal days; approximately 6 hours per workday. Also includes 5 designated days of professional development.
For the 2026-2027 school year, the program runs from August 2026, through the end of May 2027. (Not to exceed 174 days of instruction).
The Math Specialist works with kindergarten through eighth grade in small groups to improve their math skills. The goal is to help those struggling below their grade level to increase their math competency to grade level or above.
Candidate must enjoy being a team player and providing excellent care and service to a diverse population. The candidate should have the ability to interact with staff, families and students in a manner that demonstrates respect and dignity, and the ability to solve problems in a professional manner.
