Job summary

CMT Services Inc. offers an Instructional Aide position focusing on Mathematics at Montgomery College, Germantown Campus. This on-site role supports placement readiness and foundational math skills through targeted student guidance and direct tutoring.

Candidate will guide students through placement processes, assist with study strategies, and help identify appropriate academic pathways. BS in Mathematics or related field preferred. 40 hours/week July 13, 2026 – December 11, 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience tutoring or teaching mathematics at or above the developmental level.
• Skilled in using computers and technology relevant to assisting and supporting students in a computer classroom or to preparing reports or other written materials.
• Familiarity with instructional technology and educational materials in mathematics.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, front-line services to students.
• Assist students in navigating the ALEKS math placement process.
• Use available resources to provide individualized guidance and support in areas, including academic goal setting, targeted remediation, study skills, and math anxieties.
• Identify students who are experiencing delays or difficulties in the math placement process, ensuring these difficulties do not become barriers or create delays in students' academic progress.
• Reach out to students who have started the placement process but need a little nudge to complete it.
• Offer guidance regarding Math Power Boost and academic support for students who do not assess into a math course.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about ALEKS-related technical issues.
