Job summary

NOVA is seeking a Math Support Specialist to help students succeed in mathematics through in-class and out-of-class tutoring, workshops, and collaboration with the math success team. The role focuses on supporting MDE courses and facilitating math preparedness workshops at the Alexandria campus.

Responsibilities include embedded tutoring, tutoring outside class, and assisting students with Excel and math software. Telework is optional after probation, with a schedule Monday-Saturday as needed.

• Provide embedded tutoring support in the classroom for MDE students.
• Offer tutoring outside the classroom for MDE students.
• Assist students with mathematics and software used in classes.
• Develop and facilitate math preparedness workshops.
• Meet regularly with math leadership to determine support needs.
