Job summary

A regional community college in Maryland is seeking a part-time Tutor in Mathematics to provide academic support to students from Basic Math through Calculus. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of mathematics, effective communication skills, and the ability to assist students in various math-related topics and software tools. This position offers a flexible schedule averaging 6–12 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $15/hr.

Qualifications

• Must earn at least a B in Calculus I to maintain employment
• Some tutoring experience preferred but not necessary
• Willingness to learn other software or programs as necessary

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in all mathematical topics, ranging from Basic Math through Calculus
• Assist students in the use of computer programs used in Math classes
• Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills

Skills

Knowledge of math through Calculus I

Good oral communication skills

Computer experience with Windows, Word, and Excel

Education

High school diploma or GED

Enrolled in or completed Calculus I
