Job summary

Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a Math Olympiad PICO advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time position runs Oct 19, 2026 through Jun 11, 2027 and focuses on engaging elementary and middle school students with MOEMS-style problems.

Responsibilities include providing problems and review opportunities, building relationships, running a weekly after-school or lunch session, communicating with students, and administering monthly contests from November to March.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school mathematics.
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Experience dealing with diverse student populations and familiarity working in an urban setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with problems and opportunities to review solutions.
• Create and foster relationships with students to ensure each student success.
• Facilitate during 1 weekly before or after school meeting OR weekly lunch sessions.
• Maintain open communication with students.
• Review student thinking and overall student comprehension.
• Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement for students throughout practice.
• Administer Math Olympiad (MOEMS) monthly problem-solving contests in the months November through March.
