Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking an Athletics/Activities/Club-Science Olympiad advisor at Minnetonka Middle School West. The role focuses on advising students, coordinating enrichment activities, and ensuring a positive learning environment for participants.

The advisor will plan seasonal activities, enforce district policies, and work with the Student Activities Office on scheduling and facilities. This position is prorated for part-time engagement and follows Schedule C provisions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the activity and its requirements.
• Understanding of district activity and athletic codes.
• Familiarity with district policies on student conduct.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong written and spoken communication with students, staff and parents.
• Able to receive direction and follow coaching.
• Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to student participation.
• Physical ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Advise student participants in skills for success.
• Supervise student behavior during activity events.
• Oversee coaching and administration of the enrichment team.
• Create a positive learning environment for participants.
• Plan and schedule seasonal activities per District policy.
• Coordinate with the Student Activities Office for scheduling and facilities.
• Enforce rules and standards with discipline as needed.
• Assist Director of Activities with hiring and development of assistants.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
