Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Master Teacher Leader for Middle Grades Math. This school-based teacher leader helps foster the development and growth of middle school math teachers to improve student learning and achievement.

The role collaborates with principals, school leadership teams, PLCs, and math teachers to build instructional capacity for implementing the math curriculum in grades 6–8. Essential duties include serving as PLC lead, coaching and modeling lessons, providing

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in math, education or a related field required.
At least two years of successful math teaching or leadership.
At least one year of math teacher leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as the grade level PLC lead to understand district math curriculum units and deliver effective instruction.
Engage math teachers to collaborate within and outside PLCs.
Use adult learning practices to plan and facilitate regular training and support.
Support math teachers in building a repertoire of skills, including co-teaching and modeling lessons.
Work with school leaders to use observation and feedback to improve practice.
Provide training in math content, data use, and evidence-based instructional practices.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and collaborate across departments.
Maintain records of support and participate in district-wide professional learning.
