Job summary

Science Academies of New York seeks an Intervention Support Specialist-MATH for Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School for the 2026-2027 year. You will design engaging lessons aligned to state standards, modify curriculum as needed, and collaborate with staff on instructional goals, while preparing students for math assessments.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree with NYS certification; a Master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; NYS certification required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Prior teaching experience in diverse urban settings is a plus.
• Novice teachers encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans aligned to the charter curriculum and state standards.
• Modify or redesign curriculum as needed to meet standards.
• Collaborate with staff to set instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Prepare students for state assessments relevant to math content.
• Demonstrate strong content knowledge and pedagogy.
• Use analytics and data to drive instruction and improve learning outcomes.
• Respond to feedback and maintain accountability for student success.
• Maintain effective classroom management throughout lessons.
