Job summary

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking instructors for the fall 2026 PROMISE Program serving non-IMSA 9th-grade students. The role runs on Saturdays with sessions from 8:15 AM to 1:00 PM and pays $48.00 per hour.

Instructors will develop daily lesson plans, lead lectures and hands-on activities, and ensure a safe, encouraging learning environment with tutor support. Positions focus on Math with one opening, under IMSA Outreach.

Qualifications

• Develop daily lesson plans for PROMISE sessions.
• Lead lectures and hands-on activities with student tutors.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.
• Complete program evaluation forms for participants.

Responsibilities

• Develop a daily lesson plan. This may include approved original curriculum, activities used in previous years, or curriculum provided by the Outreach department.
• Lead lectures and hands on activities with assistance from student tutors
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment for participating students
• Completion of an evaluation form for each program participant. Other information: Faculty will have the assistance of IMSA student tutors who can lead/facilitate activities for the class and/or small groups.
