Job summary

Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy (IMSA) seeks a Head Coach for the high school Science Olympiad Team for the 2026-2027 school year. The stipend position depends on experience in coaching/sponsoring and years involved in the activity, with a background check and a valid Illinois driver’s license required to operate IMSA vehicles.

Qualifications

• Prior experience coaching at the high school level for Science Olympiad or similar activities.
• Pass a background check and possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Ability to plan, lead and supervise practices and manage a team.
• Willingness to complete mandated training modules as prescribed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct practices with Science Olympiad activities and coach a competitive team.
• Coordinate with the Coordinator of Athletics & Co-Curriculars to develop a season plan.
• Transport students to practices and meets as needed.
• Work with food service staff to provide meals when off campus.
• Attend practices and matches from season start to state finals; supervise any overnight stays.
