Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking an Instructional Specialist to improve math content knowledge and instructional effectiveness for teachers working with students struggling with algebra readiness concepts. The role reports to the building principal and carries a professional, exempt status.

The position emphasizes evidence-based coaching, differentiation, English Learner strategies, and collaboration across campuses to raise student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Valid Texas teacher certification or teaching certificate from out of state appropriate to position.
• Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, mentoring, coaching and training for identified teachers and campus administrators.
• Conduct needs analysis to identify teaching and learning needs at each campus and organize and implement problem-solving strategies with teachers and administrators.
• Facilitate training and coaching in areas that include but are not limited to: effective instruction, differentiation, strategies for English Language Learners, data-driven instruction.
• Work with teachers to refine knowledge and skills using in-class coaching, peer observation, co-teaching and modeling.
• Assist with common planning time structure and determine accountability measures for planning.
• Facilitate protocols for assessment of student work to drive instructional decisions.
• Assist with lesson planning, common assessment and TEKS integration.
• Coordinate instructional coaching cadre at schools with teacher-coaches.
