Job summary

The Spring Independent School District's Spring Leadership Academy in Houston, TX is seeking an Instructional Specialist-ELAR. This exempt position is based on a 187-day calendar and reports to the Campus Principal.

Starting date is immediate. The role provides direct instruction and classroom coaching to teachers and supports at-risk students in reading and mathematics, with collaboration in PLCs and district-level professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Standard Texas teaching certificate.
• Three years of successful teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction for at-risk students.
• Provide academic intervention, support, and monitoring of at-risk students.
• Planning and implementation of effective instruction.
• Analyze student data to identify trends and areas of improvement in instruction.
• Lead and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to contribute to school-wide instructional improvement efforts.
• Monitor the academic progress of identified students engaged in academic interventions.
• Model, coach, and collaborate with teachers using effective instructional strategies.
• Attend and provide district-level professional development to stay abreast of best practices.
