Job summary

Research Triangle High School in North Carolina seeks an Exceptional Education teacher to join a four-person EC team. This role supports Math instruction within IEP-aligned plans, collaborates with general education teachers, and helps students access the standard NC curriculum.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of teaching experience preferred.
• Valid NC Exceptional Education certification and teaching license.
• Experience with Math instruction and using technology to drive instruction.

Responsibilities

• Support general education classroom teachers with the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.
• Provide input on the development of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
• Maintains special education files, both paper and electronic files, as directed by federal, state, and local practices.
• Collect data on individual student skills to determine the effectiveness of programming and measure progress toward IEP goals.
• Facilitate IEP meetings for students on your caseload.
• Maximize creating independence across all natural settings.
• Work as a team member and advocate for students to gain exposure to general education peers and settings as appropriate.
• Plan effective instructional and/or behavioral strategies for adapting and modifying general curriculum to ensure all students access academic content.
