• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Antenatal Clinic, Community Midwifery, and Caseload Midwifery teams.
• Lead on workforce planning, recruitment, retention and professional development.
• Drive continuity of carer models and reduce health inequalities.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively for service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational responsibility for a defined clinical area.
• Direct-line manage the midwifery staff of the defined clinical area.
• Ensure daily coordination and be highly visible within the defined clinical area for staff, patients and visitors alike.
• Liaise with the wider Trust network and ensure integration of the real time patient feedback system within the defined area of responsibility.
• To act in the absence of the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
• Responsible for effective communication systems within the defined clinical area and ensure effective and efficient team working within the multi-disciplinary framework.
• To manage resources effectively and efficiently within the agreed budget allocation.
