Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA seeks a skilled nurse specialist in perinatal/maternal/newborn care to provide lactation assessment, support, and education to outpatients and inpatients.

You will deliver evidence-based nursing care, promote safety, educate families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement quality initiatives. Applicants must be a CA RN with BLS and lactation credentials; prior health education and lactation experience

Qualifications

One (1) year health education experience and lactation assessment, facilitation, and support experience.
Registered Nurse: CA RN, upon hire
Basic Life Support - BLS, upon hire
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, upon hire
Certified Lactation Counser, upon hire

Responsibilities

Provide specialized mother-baby and lactation support with current lactation knowledge/certification.
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care with comprehensive assessment and plan.
Educate and advocate for patients and families with culturally responsive education.
Promote safety and infection prevention, report abuse or neglect, and respond to emergencies.
Collaborate within the interdisciplinary team, document accurately, and participate in quality initiatives.
