Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA, is seeking a lactation-focused RN to provide mother-baby support and education in the perinatal/maternal/newborn setting. You will assess breastfeeding needs and educate families while delivering evidence-based nursing care.

The role requires CA RN, BLS, and IBCLC credentials or equivalent, with preferred lactation certifications. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety and quality care in a hospital

Qualifications

• One year health education experience and lactation assessment, facilitation, and support experience.
• Registered Nurse: CA RN, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - BLS, upon hire.
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, upon hire.
• Certified Lactation Counser, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized mother-baby and lactation support through assessment and education.
• Deliver safe nursing care with assessment, planning, interventions and evaluation.
• Educate and support patients and families with culturally informed care.
• Promote newborn and patient safety by infection prevention and reporting.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and document care while supporting quality initiatives.
