Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist in New Jersey. The role involves performing Diagnostic Ultrasound procedures, including perinatal scans, with emphasis on image quality and patient care.

Certification requirements include ARDMS or ARRT, plus Nuchal Translucency where applicable. The position includes patient care, equipment operation, and collaboration with staff within the department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
• Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and controls.
• Understanding of equipment services and computer systems.
• Knowledge of safety, infection, and disaster policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures according to departmental format and completes exams on time.
• Handles daily clerical duties including EPIC, scheduling, and other computer systems.
• Performs portable ultrasound exams.
• Operates equipment and detects anatomical abnormalities per sonographic procedures.
• Prepares supplies, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients and positions them for views.
• Evaluates image quality and maintains records and data.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and replenishes supplies.
• Provides guidance to students, staff and residents.
• Adapts care to patient age, culture, language, and needs.
