Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a qualified sonographer for the Maternal-Fetal Medicine division. You will perform advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations, NT screening, and fetal Doppler studies in a high-risk pregnancy setting, ensuring imaging meets AIUM/ACOG standards.

The role requires RDMS OB/GYN with active status, ARMS OB/GYN certification, and cervical length/Nuchal translucency certifications, with a goal of obtaining cervical length certification within a year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP approved Ultrasound School.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ Maternal Fetal Medicine experience for high-risk pregnancies preferred.
• Current RDMS in OB/GYN – Active Status required.
• Current ARMS in OB/GYN certification required.
• Current certification in Nuchal Translucency and Cervical Length Assessment required.
• Cervical length assessment certification must be obtained within a year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound Examinations.
• Perform targeted ultrasounds in the first, second, and third trimesters for high-risk conditions and GYN studies.
• Perform NT and first-trimester screening ultrasounds per AIUM accreditation standards.
• Perform Biophysical Profiles and Fetal Doppler studies.
• Measure cervical length and assess placental abnormalities.
• Assist Perinatologist during invasive procedures (amniocentesis, CVS, Fetal Reduction).
• Image Analysis and Interpretation Support.
• Acquire diagnostic images for physician review and document in EMR/AS-OBGYN.
• Ensure measurements and images meet ACOG/AIUM/SMFM standards.
• Communicate urgent findings promptly to the Provider.
• Maintain equipment calibration and participate in quality assurance.
