Brookwood Baptist Health is seeking a skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer II to join our growing Women’s Services team in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on delivering high-quality diagnostic ultrasound for high-risk obstetrical patients, in collaboration with one MFM physician and two nurse practitioners.

The position emphasizes evaluation, diagnosis, and management of complex pregnancies through advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations.

Qualifications

• RDMS (OB/GYN) certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited sonography program.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maternal fetal ultrasound examinations in accordance with AIUM/ACOG/SMFM guidelines.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and measurements.
• Communicate abnormal findings to the MFM physician and assist with procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Assist with training and mentoring new team members as needed.

Baptist Health Medical Group Maternal Fetal Medicine, located at Baptist Health – Brookwood Hospital, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer to join our growing Women’s Services team in Birmingham, AL. This role involves working collaboratively with one maternal fetal medicine physician and two nurse practitioners to deliver high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services for high-risk obstetrical patients.

Our clinic is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and focused on delivering exceptional patient care while partnering closely with physicians and the care team.

Schedule

• Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include performing comprehensive maternal fetal ultrasound examinations; obtaining high-quality diagnostic images and measurements in accordance with AIUM, ACOG, and SMFM guidelines; recognizing and communicating abnormal findings to the MFM physician; assisting with ultrasound-guided procedures; maintaining accurate documentation; and ensuring compliance with departmental quality and safety standards.

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in collaboration with physicians
• Ensure accurate imaging, patient identification, and documentation
• Assess image quality and confirm proper anatomy is captured
• Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining safety standards
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and quality control standards
• Assist with training and mentoring new team members as needed

• RDMS (OB/GYN) certification
• Graduate of an accredited sonography program
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain)

Preferred:

• RDCS (FE) certification (or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire)
• Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine
