MFM FELLOWSHIP DIRECTOR
THE DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS & GYNECOLOGY AND WOMEN'S HEALTH

THE POSITION: The Fellowship Director is appointed by and reports to the Vice-Chair of Education and Department Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women's Health. The Director is responsible for maintaining an educational environment that trains Fellows across all ACGME competency areas, in accordance with hospital and GME policies. The role involves oversight of Education, GME Governance, Regulatory Compliance, and Accreditation Maintenance. The Director ensures the success of the Fellowship program, holds authority and accountability for its overall functioning, and must have current certification in the specialty by the ABOG or equivalent, along with a valid medical license and ongoing clinical activity. A minimum of three years of educational and/or administrative experience is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing administration and operations of the Fellowship program
  • Leading teaching and scholarly activities
  • Recruiting, selecting, evaluating, and promoting Fellows, including disciplinary actions
  • Supervising Fellows and overseeing their education in patient care
  • Developing and maintaining a learning environment aligned with ACGME Competency domains
  • Evaluating candidates prior to approval and annually thereafter
  • Obtaining review and approval from the Sponsoring Institution's DIO before submitting requests to the ACGME
  • Documenting verification of Fellows' completion within 30 days of graduation and upon request
  • Ensuring compliance with policies on grievances, due process, employment, and non-discrimination
  • Providing a confidential environment for Fellows to raise concerns and feedback
  • Providing applicants with relevant eligibility information for specialty boards
  • Recruiting and retaining Fellows effectively

A competitive salary range of $425,000 to $575,000, along with relocation assistance and a comprehensive benefits package, is offered.
