Job summary

Ochsner Health System is looking for a qualified sonographer who will independently perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures. With a focus on patient care, you will serve as a mentor for junior staff and students while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will have completed a CAHEA approved training program, possess good communication skills, and be prepared to work a flexible schedule.

This position is critical in providing timely, accurate imaging to support the diagnostic process.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
• Work Experience: Preferred 2 years of sonographer experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
