Job summary

Chamberlain University in Charlotte seeks a Clinical Instructor for the Campus to deliver nursing instruction and supervise clinical experiences for students. This Visiting Professor position supports the College of Nursing with both clinical and didactic responsibilities under the Course Coordinator.

The role requires a Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing, an unencumbered North Carolina nursing license, and at least two years of instructional experience within the last five years.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• An unencumbered professional nursing license in North Carolina.
• At least two years professional experience within last five years in instruction as a registered nurse.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Genuine passion for nursing, education and lifelong learning.
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to serve students, colleagues and the broader community.

Responsibilities

• Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
• Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Remains available to staff at the agencies and provides remediation as needed.
• Maintains current knowledge of agency policies and clinical expectations.
• Develops and posts written clinical assignments aligned with learner needs.
• Contributes to program development and evaluation, and to campus operations.
• May teach didactic content under supervision and coordinates with the course coordinator.
• Keeps the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues and concerns.
