Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Materials Supervisor in Industrial Solutions to oversee material flow, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure uninterrupted production. You will manage receipt, storage, and delivery of materials while maintaining safety, quality, and inventory accuracy.

You will lead a team, coordinate with production, planning, and logistics, drive continuous improvement, monitor SAP/ERP, and ensure FIFO compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5+ years of experience in materials, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
• 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environment required.
• ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous availability of raw materials to support production schedules.
• Coordinate inbound, storage, and line-side delivery of materials.
• Monitor material shortages and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and system integrity (SAP or ERP).
• Lead cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation processes.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance supply continuity and cost.
• Supervise daily receiving, storage, picking, and shipping activities.
• Ensure proper material handling, labeling, and FIFO compliance.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards in all material areas.
• Supervise and develop warehouse/material handlers and team leads.
• Assign daily work, monitor performance, and support problem resolution.
• Drive engagement, safety awareness, and continuous improvement culture.
• Collaborate with production, planning, and logistics teams.
• Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
• Support launches, engineering changes, and demand fluctuations.
• Track supplier delivery performance and elevate issues.
• Communicate material changes and supply risks internally.
• Support logistics planning and transportation coordination.
• Lead initiatives to improve material flow, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
• Implement process improvements and standard work.
