Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies, a division of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, is seeking a Chemical Technician to join our Lansing, NY team. You will support materials testing and analysis through preparation, execution, and documentation of chemical tests on metals, ceramics (glass) and other inorganic materials.

This role supports clients in aerospace, automotive, medical and other high-performance industries, emphasizing accuracy, data recording in LIMS, and safe, collaborative lab work in a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 1–3 years of laboratory experience preferred, especially in a materials testing or analytical lab.
• Familiarity with analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, OES and combustion analyzers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and chemical sample preparations including cutting, drilling, and grinding metal samples.
• Analyze samples using analytical instrumentation such as ICP-OES, OES, and combustion analyzers.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and cleanliness.
• Accurately record data and observations on datasheets and in LIMS systems.
• Assist in method development and validation under the guidance of senior chemists.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Support quality assurance initiatives and participate in internal audits as needed.
