Job summary

WSB is seeking a CMT Technician in Rochester, MN to perform field and laboratory tests, collect samples, and provide precise data for environmental and construction projects. The role requires travel to sites, outdoor work in all weather, and collaboration with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Field & lab assignments may require travel and/or work to be performed on site.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Full-time position with standard business hours; occasional night work or overtime may be required based on project deadlines.
• Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform field & laboratory tests according to prescribed procedures and standards.
• Collect soil and concrete samples, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports.
• Use specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare reports and technical data.
• Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment; maintain results log.
• Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment.
• Confer with Engineering staff on test efforts.
• Inspect construction activities on heavy highway construction projects.
• Monitor work performed by contractors or vendors.
• Ensure materials used on projects meet specifications.
