Job summary

WSB and Associates seeks a CMT Technician, Materials to perform field and laboratory tests on construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. You will support environmental, engineering, and construction projects by providing accurate test data, maintaining equipment, and preparing detailed reports.

You will work with engineering staff, contractors, and clients to ensure quality and safety on construction sites.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience or certification in construction inspection/testing preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel and work onsite in outdoor conditions.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests according to prescribed procedures and standards.
• Collect soil and concrete samples, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports.
• Use specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare reports and technical data.
• Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment; maintain results log.
• Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment.
• Confer with Engineering staff on test efforts.
• Inspect construction activities on heavy highway projects.
• Monitor work performed by contractors or vendors.
• Ensure materials used on projects meet specifications.
• Inspect excavation, embankment, borrow pits, and topsoil handling.
• Complete forms and paperwork for daily activities.
• Maintain contact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Move a case weighing up to 95 pounds; push up to 250 pounds in a wheelbarrow.
• Work onsite outdoors in varying weather conditions.
