The Materials Testing Technician performs a wide array of important quality assurance testing on transportation project materials. Working in both the laboratory and out in the field, conducts materials testing, inspections, research, and investigations of construction materials, all while applying methodologies commonly accepted in roadway and bridge construction and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with established standards, specifications, and provisions. Being an integral member of a team and making a positive impact on our community are just two additional and rewarding aspects of this position.

Participates in training and assists in training new Materials Testing Technicians as needed
Working Conditions
This position may require lifting or exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly. Work may be performed in either an office setting or in a field environment. While performing the regular duties in this position, the employee may be exposed to loud noises, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, atmospheric conditions, fumes, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, and other related conditions and/or situations.
