Job summary

Atlas is seeking a full-time Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician for its Fishers, Indiana laboratory. The role offers hands-on exposure to concrete, soil, and asphalt testing, with training provided.

You will work with a team to support regional construction and engineering projects, following established procedures and safety standards. The position is ideal for an entry-level candidate with a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a scientific/technical field preferred.
• No prior laboratory experience required; entry-level position with on-the-job training.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply testing procedures and technical documents.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain records and testing documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Willingness to learn new testing methods, equipment and industry standards.
• Commitment to safety, quality and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Ability to lift and move testing materials and equipment; standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on concrete, soil, and asphalt materials according to procedures and standards.
• Prepare, handle, and process samples with accurate record-keeping of results.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory testing equipment under supervision.
• Follow detailed testing procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Assist with quality control by reporting irregularities or non-conforming results.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and adhere to safety policies.
• Collaborate with staff and engineers to support testing needs and deadlines.
• Receive training to develop proficiency in testing methods and lab practices.
