Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Greensboro, NC is seeking an Intern Level 2 to perform routine field and laboratory testing tasks in support of construction materials testing projects. This role builds on foundational experience to contribute more actively to data collection and testing activities while developing knowledge of construction practices and project workflows.

The candidate will be pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (Associate, Bachelor, or Master) and must complete specified

Qualifications

90 days of related experience, with at least one prior internship with ECS or another firm.
Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
One certification must be completed within the 90-day intro period and basic certifications within 270 days, including Radiation Safety, Soils I, and Concrete I.
Valid driver’s license required if driving for ECS subsidiary.

Responsibilities

Perform field and laboratory testing tasks for construction materials with increasing independence.
Document field conditions and testing results in field reports.
Assist in equipment preparation, organization, and maintenance.
Perform basic calculations, data reduction, and data entry.
Communicate with contractors, field staff, and project teams regarding testing activities.
Assist with laboratory testing including sample preparation, curing, and procedures.
Maintain clean, organized field and lab work environments.
Participate in project meetings and coordination activities.
Assist in reviewing laboratory results and supporting project documentation.
