Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Test Engineer I to provide technical lab support and perform testing on metallic and non-metallic materials. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers, QC leaders, vendors, and customers to create and execute test plans and maintain lab equipment.

You will work with a team to develop new testing capabilities, write procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements in a hybrid environment in Torrance, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment with knowledge of laboratory safety and quality.
• Knowledge of basic materials testing including mechanical, metallurgical, or chemical.
• Ability to read engineering specifications or drawings and to write work instructions.
• Experience with materials testing techniques and analytical methods.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, vendors and external suppliers to develop and execute test plans in mechanical testing and related disciplines.
• Develop new testing capabilities, identify equipment, write procedures, and ensure quality system compliance.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces, perform 5S, manage consumables inventory and handle receiving/shipping.
