Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Chester, VA is seeking a Materials Lead for the 2nd shift to oversee material handlers, plan inventories, and ensure safe, efficient operations in a busy warehouse environment.

You will delegate tasks, monitor performance, and drive accuracy in data entry and material movement while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards. Forklift operation and 4+ years warehouse experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Minimum 4 years warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work assignments given to the Material Handlers and provide assistance towards determining and meeting short-term departmental objectives.
• Delegate job assignments and determine priorities based on available labor and workload.
• Assure that Materials personnel execute job duties and demonstrate personal conduct in a manner that is compliant with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Observe and communicate unsafe conditions to traffic and /or supervision and take corrective actions.
• Plan for and execution of quarterly physical inventories.
• Ensure personnel meet or exceed the minimum number of trailers/cases loaded daily, performing root cause analysis when mistakes are discovered, and performing 6S audits.
