Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to support on-time deliveries while controlling costs.
• Supervise year-end physical inventory and ensure perpetual system accuracy.
• Oversee disposition of obsolete or excess materials and valuation.
• Direct production planning and scheduling to meet forecasts and operations needs.
• Coordinate customer release schedules and delivery commitments.
• Partner with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Investigate and resolve material shortages and supply chain disruptions.
• Develop and analyze reporting for materials management functions.
• Oversee shipping, receiving, warehousing, and finished goods storage operations.
• Identify opportunities for JIT and inventory optimization.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and policies.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.

A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking a Materials Supervisor to oversee the planning, procurement, inventory control, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and distribution of materials and finished goods. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, and production support while leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, inventory management expertise, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities to meet customer and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to support on-time customer deliveries while minimizing carrying costs and expedited freight expenses.
• Supervise year-end physical inventory activities and ensure the accuracy of perpetual inventory systems throughout the year.
• Manage inventory valuation by overseeing the disposition of obsolete, excess, and damaged materials.
• Direct production planning and scheduling activities to align with customer demand forecasts and operational requirements.
• Coordinate customer release schedules and delivery commitments.
• Partner with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
• Investigate and resolve material shortages and supply chain disruptions.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze reporting systems supporting materials management functions.
• Oversee shipping, receiving, warehousing, and finished goods storage operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory management practices, including Just-in-Time (JIT) methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with established departmental procedures and company policies.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members to maximize performance and professional growth.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or materials environment.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Experience with inventory control, production planning, scheduling, shipping, and receiving.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and inventory optimization strategies.
