Duke Energy is seeking a Materials Specialist to support warehouse operations, including inventory control, receiving, issues, transfers, and chemical inventory. The role emphasizes accurate inventory, safe handling of maintenance materials, and coordination with plant management to prioritize daily tasks.
The position requires a High School/GED, with II level preferring 2 years of related experience. On-site work, possible overtime, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
The Material Specialist position is responsible for executing day-to-day activities in support of warehouse operations including, but not limited to, inventory control, issues, receiving, transfers, chemical inventory and, if applicable, equipment and tools. Assuring inventory accuracy is a critical aspect of the position which includes physical inventory and chemical inventory processes. The job activity ensures the safe movement and handling of required parts and maintenance materials into and out of Duke Energy Facilities. The successful Materials Specialist candidate ensures work priorities are established and adhered to for those activities associated with material handling processes and systems. The Material Specialist will have excellent communication skills and is expected to work effectively with plant management and staff to prioritize, schedule and implement activities related with day-to-day operations and maintenance activities within the Power Generation facility. The Material Specialist will be a self-starter and customer-driven to support the supply chain organization and the generation plant operations customers. Also required is the ability to learn new processes and systems within Supply Chain operations including MAXIMO and EMAX applications. This person will be responsible for maintaining excellent communications and relationships with supply chain site procurement and site operations to ensure the efficient flow of commodities in and out of Duke Energy Facilities.
