Job summary

RTX's Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) seeks a Materials Shop Floor Control Specialist to drive materials transformation, release materials, manage handling methods, and support lean line back logistics in a demanding aerospace environment.

You will work with CSMC administration, materials, operations and 3PL teams to meet capacity, inventory, and delivery goals, while developing and executing standards for performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree combined with 5+ years in engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/planning, quality or related environment.
  • Master's degree combined with 3+ years in engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/planning, quality or related environment.
  • In absence of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/planning, quality or related environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

What You Will Do:

The Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) organization is in search of a Materials Shop Floor Control Specialist responsible for driving our materials and logistics transformation.

The Materials Shop Floor Control Specialist's responsibilities include executing materials transformation initiatives and driving a strategic materials management architecture. It will include the releasing of material, managing handling methods, kitting and material movement following the fundamentals of line back logistics.

Success will be measured by developing strategies and executing goals with the business units/departments and objectives to meet capacity requirements, inventory controls, cost reduction objectives, on time delivery, and control tower measures. The individual will have the opportunity to work directly with CSMC administration, materials, operations and 3PL organizations as well as the internal manufacturing groups to redefine processes, execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.

  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on change management.
  • You should excel at forward thinking and insure that CSMC is transforming to meet the customer demands of a difficult manufacturing environment. Successful individuals will:

  • Communicate to peers and management, the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Establish system architecture designs that take into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree combined and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, quality, or related environment or ORa Master's degree combined with 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, quality, or related environment
  • In absence of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, quality, or related environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience utilizing SAP operating system
  • Solumina
  • Power BI and Oracle Data Management Tables
  • Advanced knowledge of materials management strategies, Lean manufacturing system design and shop floor management
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC)
  • CPIM certification or willingness to earn

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
