RTX is seeking a Materials Manager for the Compression Systems Module Center in Middletown, CT. Lead the weekend material movement, release, and kitting while driving Lean initiatives to meet capacity and on-time delivery targets.

You will work with CSMC administration, manufacturing, and 3PL partners to redefine processes, deliver cost reductions, and optimize shop-floor management onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in manufacturing operations or related field, or Master’s with 5+ years.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement principles (Lean, CORE, QCPC).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to hourly workforce in a manufacturing setting.

What You Will Do:

The Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) organization is in search of a Materials Manager responsible forleading our Alternate Work Week materials team. The Materials Manager's responsibilities includeexecuting materials transformation initiatives anddriving strategic materials management architecture. It will include the releasing of material, managing handling methods, kittingand material movement following the fundamentals of line back logistics.Success will be measured by developing strategies and executing goals with the business units/departmentsand objectives to meet capacity requirements, inventory controls, cost reduction objectives, on time delivery, and control tower measures. The Materials Manager will have the opportunity to work directly with CSMC administration, materials, operations and 3PL organizations as well as the internal manufacturing groups to redefine processes, execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.

• Provide leadership and direction to hourly workforce
• Serve as the Mod Center focal for weekend deliveries and TVA plan
• Ensure that CSMC is transforming to meet the customer demands in a complex manufacturing environment with constantly shifting priorities
• Executestrategies and oversee activities through multiple organizations; communicate to peers and management, the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and other organizations to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
• Establish and execute standards and expectations for work effort and performance while providing regular, consistent feedback on performance to those standards
• Implement Lean manufacturing measures to ensure value streams and shop operations are balanced at all times and/or to be able to identify areas of opportunity quickly
• Establish system architecture designs that consider customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities
• Be available for shift overlap

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree combined and 8 or more years of experience in an manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, continuous improvement/process improvement, or related environment or OR a Master’s degree combined with 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, continuous improvement/process improvement, or related environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC)

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Aerospace industry experience
• Experience in a team lead/supervisory capacity
• Experience utilizing SAP operating system
• Solumina
• Power BI and Oracle Data Management Tables
• Advanced knowledge of materials management strategies, Lean manufacturing system design and shop floor management
• CPIM certification or willingness to earn

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
