Job summary

Teragen Energy Corporation is seeking a Material Scientist/Engineer to lead materials characterization, development, and qualification for solid oxide fuel cell components. You will own characterization programs, guide material/process tradeoffs, and work with cross-functional teams to drive manufacturable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, or a related field with 0–6 years of experience; exceptional candidates at any level are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong materials science fundamentals and material-relevant characterization experience (e.g., SEM, TGA/DTA, Dilatometry, PSD, BET).
  • Comfort working at the boundary between material behavior and hardware requirements.
  • Preference for pragmatic, fast, decision-quality experiments over prolonged perfection.
  • Interest in translating materials learning into manufacturable product decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead materials characterization and focused studies for the platform evolution, including failure analysis and materials/process tradeoffs.
  • Develop cell and stack materials from composition and processing through characterization and production-ready specifications.
  • Collaborate on scale-up, degradation analysis, failure diagnosis, and process improvements.
  • Partner with Mechanical and Test Engineering to understand manufacturability and test results across the technology.
  • Conceptualize and execute experimental plans, documenting observations and recommendations for fast, traceable decisions.
