Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated is seeking a Materials Science Engineer II in Tucson, AZ, to independently lead materials and manufacturing-engineering activities for composite liner production and coating operations. You will own projects from definition through evaluation, validation, and documentation, applying materials science, chemical/mechanical principles and manufacturing knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with composites, coatings, polymers, or related materials.
Must be a U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

Lead development and qualification of composite materials and coating systems.
Establish material and process requirements based on performance and manufacturability.
Evaluate material systems and related technologies (composites, polymers, coatings).
Develop material characterization plans, tests, and qualification programs.
Analyze data to assess material performance and risks.
Lead improvement projects from definition to implementation and closure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and safety objectives.
