This role involves managing the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process for complex technical procurement needs, including bid preparation, supplier negotiation, legal coordination, and post-award supplier follow-up, with an emphasis on capital projects and processing equipment.

Job Summary

A Materials Procurement Coordinator is needed for an an American Fortune 500 company and global supplier of paints, coatings, and specialty materials in various locations. This role involves managing the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process for complex technical procurement needs, including bid preparation, supplier negotiation, legal coordination, and post-award supplier follow-up, with an emphasis on capital projects and processing equipment.

location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

salary: $65 - 75 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

Responsibilities

• Assist internal teams in preparing technical bid packages.
• Develop supplier service level agreements (commercial aspects) in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Create technical and commercial RFPs (Requests for Proposal).
• Conduct or support pre-bid meetings with suppliers and internal teams.
• Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) from suppliers.
• Perform bid tabulations-both technical and commercial comparisons.
• Negotiate proposals on technical and commercial terms.
• Collaborate with legal teams to address contract matters.
• Assist in drafting and finalizing framework agreements.
• Conduct post-contract supplier follow-ups to ensure obligations are met.
  
  

Skills

• Experience in coatings and paint industry.
• CPSM/CPM certification (Certified Professional in Supply Management or Purchasing Manager).
• Experience managing large capital projects, especially involving processing equipment or construction.
• Familiarity with liquid/powder processing equipment.
• Knowledge of categories such as: dispensing systems, media mills (powder/liquid), extruders, chill rolls, bulk tanks, reactors, and automation controls.
  
  

Education: Engineering background.
