Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking a Materials & Processes Engineer for our Torrance facility to advance welding processes, supervise process development, and ensure high-quality, reliable performance. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Operations, Suppliers, and Supply Chain to meet stringent requirements and drive continuous improvement.

You will lead process development, write procedures, and train operators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with welding, brazing, soldering, and precision cleaning.
• Proven ability to develop welding schedules and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve welding processes to meet functional requirements with high quality and consistency.
• Troubleshoot process problems and interface with internal/external customers.
• Write specifications and procedures, develop weld schedules, and train operators.
• Support cleaning, plating, brazing, soldering, adhesives, paints, machining, and metallizing.
• Conduct extensive laboratory activities (SEM, XPS, microscopy, DSC, XRF, X-ray) and small-scale tests.
