Stellant Systems in Torrance, CA is seeking a Materials & Processes Engineer to support materials and welding processes, including laser, TIG, and resistance welding, as well as cleaning, plating, brazing, soldering, and testing. The role partners with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Operations, Suppliers, and Supply Chain to drive quality and efficiency.

The successful candidate will develop weld schedules, write specifications, train operators, and perform extensive lab work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of metals and joining methods with metallurgical concepts.
• Hands-on experience in Brazing, Soldering, GTAW and Laser Welding.
• Ability to develop welding schedules and specifications.
• Experience with materials in a manufacturing environment and lab testing.

Responsabilités

• Provide engineering support for materials and welding processes.
• Develop weld schedules and write specifications/procedures.
• Troubleshoot process problems and interface with internal/external teams.
• Train operators on processing techniques and welding practices.
• Support cleaning, plating, brazing, soldering, adhesives, paints, and machining.
• Conduct laboratory work: SEM, XPS, microscopy, DSC, XRF, and X-ray tests.
