Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking a TeraWave M&P Engineer for Satellite and Payloads to establish and execute materials and process controls across spacecraft bus systems and RF/optical payloads. You will protect performance, reliability, and production yield from design through fleet sustainment, working with designers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

You will drive design-for-manufacture improvements and oversee qualification activities, ensuring compliance with space-grade

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level education in a technical field related to materials/engineering.
  • 5+ years in aerospace materials and processes or related high-rel product.
  • Experience reviewing drawings/specifications and qualifying materials/processes.
  • Ability to relate material choices to electrical, mechanical, thermal and reliability outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate with designers, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the TeraWave Materials and Processes Plan across spacecraft bus and RF/optical payloads.
  • Provide materials and process authority for hardware including spacecraft structures, payloads, solar arrays, and connectors.
  • Review specifications, source-control documents, and supplier plans for compliance and producibility.
  • Qualify materials/processes for vacuum, atomic oxygen, thermal cycling, contamination, humidity, and launch environments.
  • Plan qualification activities, oversee tests, and manage supplier audits and deviations.
