Job summary

Clayton is seeking an Assistant Materials Manager to oversee purchasing of production materials, demand and supply planning, and ERP purchasing. You will support cost savings initiatives and manage vendor relationships to meet facility needs.

You will work closely with the production team to prevent shortages, maintain inventory levels, and improve procurement processes. A strong candidate has 1–3 years of related experience and proficient Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years’ relevant experience in purchasing or materials planning preferred.
• Experience with ERP/Oracle systems and Excel required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and expedite purchase orders.
• Maintain stock levels to meet production goals.
• Analyze capacity planning and material requirements.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and suppliers.
• Manage inventory and lead times in ERP system.
• Weekly follow-up on past due orders with suppliers.
