Job summary

Clayton Homes is seeking an Assistant Materials Manager to oversee purchasing production materials and ERP-driven procurement. The role supports inventory control, capacity planning, and supplier relationships to meet production schedules.

The position requires 1–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and a proactive, analytical mindset to drive cost savings and efficient materials management.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ prior relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong systems/process orientation with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and expedite purchase orders as required.
• Maintain adequate stock levels to achieve inventory goals.
• Analyze capacity planning and material requirements.
• Manage inventory, schedules, and availability to meet production plans.
• Communicate materials status with manufacturing and supervisors.
• Assist in cost savings initiatives and supplier performance feedback.
