Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; APICS preferred.
• Experience in material planning or purchasing with MRP systems.
• Leadership experience in building and coaching teams.

• Lead material purchasing activities balancing budget, lead time, and customer service.

Our client, a growing food manufacturing company, is seeking a Material Planning Manager to lead and develop the Material Planning function across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting production objectives through effective planning and procurement strategies. The Material Planning Manager will partner closely with Sourcing, Production, Logistics, and Supply Chain leadership to drive operational efficiency, support long-term business goals, and lead a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement.

Some responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute material planning strategies to support production, inventory optimization, and forecast alignment
• Lead material purchasing activities while balancing budget, lead time, and customer service requirements
• Monitor key performance indicators including inventory turns, material availability, and fill rates to drive continuous improvement
• Lead, coach, and develop the Material Planning team while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
• 8+ years of experience in material planning or purchasing utilizing MRP systems
• 5+ years of experience within food manufacturing
• 3+ years of leadership experience with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field; APICS certification preferred
