Job summary

C.H. Guenther & Son is seeking a Materials Planner to ensure continuous supply of raw and packaging materials for production facilities.

You will place POs, manage replenishment strategies, and coordinate with suppliers and plant operations to maintain production flow. The role emphasizes forecasting, cost reduction initiatives, and collaboration across Purchasing, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred: Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
• CPSM certification highly encouraged within the first three years of employment (employer funded).
• 0-3 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials management.
• SAP knowledge preferred.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills, to include Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Place Purchase Orders and manage replenishment strategies for assigned materials.
• Manage supply disruptions driven by unforeseen events; react to changes.
• Optimize warehouse space by ensuring POs are delivered to avoid shortages or inventory overflow.
• Ensure availability of material through forecasts, lead time replenishment, and collaboration with suppliers and plant operations.
• Develop and lead inventory cost reduction initiatives with internal and external customers; leverage SAP and supplier capabilities.
