Job summary

MAPEI is seeking a Materials/Packaging Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Florida. You will work with our Product Management team to support new product development, packaging enhancements, and research.

Responsibilities include evaluating materials and packaging, testing, data analysis, and collaborating across functions. The program offers practical learning, mentorship, and potential full-time opportunities after graduation, with housing stipends in certain cases.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s/graduate degree in Materials Science, Materials, Packaging Engineering, or related field.
• Willingness to travel.

Job Description

The Opportunity
As a Materials/Packaging Engineering Intern, you will work alongside our Product Management team to support the development of new products, improvements to existing products, and packaging-enhancement initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience evaluating customer feedback, market needs, material and packaging performance, product protection, usability, and technical requirements. This experience may lead to future opportunities in product management, product development, materials engineering, or packaging engineering.

• Evaluate product materials, packaging designs, and performance requirements.
• Assist with product and packaging testing, validation, and data analysis.
• Research emerging materials, packaging technologies, and competitive products.
• Identify opportunities to improve durability, usability, sustainability, and cost.
• Support technical documentation, presentations, and product launch activities.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing.

The Program Details

• Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
• Internship duration: May-August 2027 (12 weeks)
• Practical, hands-on learning with MAPEI’s Product Management team
