Job summary

MAPEI is offering a Polymers Chemical Engineering Intern role at the West Chicago, IL facility. You’ll work with engineering and maintenance teams on projects in Operations, Maintenance and Supply Chain, applying engineering principles in a manufacturing setting.

We seek students pursuing Chemical, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields, juniors or seniors, with initiative and a strong motivation to learn.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field.
Junior or senior status preferred.
Willingness to travel.
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity and an innovative mindset.
Strong motivation to learn and succeed.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering assignments using standard techniques and criteria.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data and performance metrics.
Document and maintain technical data and project records.

Job description

As a Polymers Chemical Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our engineering and maintenance teams to support projects and initiatives within MAPEI’s Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain functions. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while applying engineering principles to real-world projects. This experience may lead to future full-time engineering opportunities within corporate engineering or field operations.

Perform engineering assignments using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Collect, analyze, and interpret relevant data and performance metrics.
Document and maintain technical products and project data.
Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and other cross-functional teams.

The Program Details

Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
Internship duration: May–August 2027 (12 weeks)
Practical, hands-on learning at MAPEI’s West Chicago manufacturing facility
Host location: West Chicago, IL
