Job summary

Voltava in Michigan is offering a Materials Intern role within the Materials and Supply Chain team. You will support inventory management, track material flow, manage data in ERP/WMS, and participate in launches and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will gain hands-on experience with ERP and warehouse systems, materials tracking, audits, and cross-functional collaboration, while contributing to daily plant operations and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, at least fourth year student.
• Minimum cumulative GPA average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

• Identify packing discrepancies and communicate space constraint issues.
• Input material flow data into Excel spreadsheets for every part.
• Optimize material flow processes to improve efficiency and space utilization.
• Assist with inventory management activities and cycle counts.
• Receive and process incoming materials and track movements.
• Use scan guns to monitor material movements and updates.
• Process material transactions in ERP and WMS systems.
• Support launch builds and related material activities.
• Track and communicate the status of assigned tasks and projects.

About the Role:

The Materials Intern will support the Materials and Supply Chain team in maintaining efficient material flow throughout the facility. This hands‑on role provides exposure to inventory management, logistics, production support, and continuous improvement activities within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The intern will assist with tracking materials, analyzing material movement, maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting launch activities, and identifying opportunities to improve material flow, space utilization, and operational efficiency. This position offers valuable experience working with ERP and warehouse management systems, inventory control processes, and cross‑functional teams while contributing to the successful execution of daily plant operations.

What You Will Do:

• Identify any packing discrepancies.

What You Need To Be Successful:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, at least fourth year student
• Minimum cumulative GPA average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Education:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Admin, Business management, or related field
