Job summary

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to organize, track, and analyze data using spreadsheets.
  • Ability to reconcile inventory and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and concepts.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, follow through on responsibilities, and effectively manage priorities.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory levels using the ERP system, 5 Alarm system, and visual Min/Max alerts to prevent production interruptions.
  • Coordinate and expedite material flow based on production and shipping requirements.
  • Review schedules to identify material shortages, overdue materials, and potential disruptions.
  • Partner with customers, receiving, production, and cross-functional teams to resolve material issues and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Investigate inventory variances, perform cycle counts, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Hot Shots and other expedited material requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze OSR and proactively address material concerns.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities related to material flow, plant organization, layouts, systems, and processes.
  • Support plant safety policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role:

The Material Coordinator plays a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently by ensuring materials, parts, and assemblies are available when and where they are needed. This position manages inventory and material flow across receiving and production, identifies and resolves shortages or inventory variances, coordinates expedited materials, and partners with customers, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams to meet production and delivery commitments.   • Experience in material planning, production control, inventory management, or logistics.
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and variance resolution.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Min/Max inventory controls, visual management systems, or material shortage/alert processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience coordinating expedited material deliveries, including Hot Shots.
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing OSR or similar operational and material performance metrics.
  • Experience partnering directly with customers to resolve material, inventory, or production-related issues.
  • Familiarity with mobile equipment and material-handling operations.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education or coursework in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field is a plus.
